My love of baking started early, but the moment that truly sparked everything was the day before my own wedding in 2011. Instead of resting, I was in the kitchen baking and decorating 150 cupcakes in four flavours — a challenge I set myself, and one I absolutely loved.

I had no idea at the time that those wedding cupcakes would set me on a path I'd never look back from.

By day, I work as a secondary school teacher — a job I'm passionate about. But baking has always been my creative outlet. Over the years I've made cakes for family and friends, let my boys push me with increasingly ambitious birthday cake requests, and quietly perfected my recipes and decorating techniques along the way.

In 2024, I took the leap and registered Shadz Cakes as a business — turning years of passion into something real.

More recently, I've combined my two greatest loves — teaching and baking — by launching cake decorating workshops for both kids and adults. Whether it's a children's birthday party activity or a fun girls' get-together, I bring all the creativity, all the equipment, and all the washing up. You just bring the enthusiasm.

I specialise in buttercream cakes and love working with wafer paper to create one-of-a-kind designs. Every cake is made to order, baked with quality ingredients, and crafted with genuine care.
