I'm Shadé owner of Shadz Cakes. Please have a look around my website where you will see all of my recent bakes in the Gallery, or have a browse in the Shop to purchase some of my 'Bake at Home' range or 'Paint Your Own' kids activity kits. Or perhaps treat yourself or someone special to my divine Stuffed Cookies, They are the only available at certain points throughout the month, so they're not to be missed!
All of my cakes are bespoke and are made with quality ingredients. I make all my custom cakes from my home bakery in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire. My Story
As a child I loved to bake, however, my passion for baking really started when I decided to make a cupcake tower for my own wedding in 2011. I chose 4 different flavours and got to work testing and perfecting my recipes... as if I didn't have enough to do the day before my wedding. Baking and decorating 150 cupcakes was a challenge and I had no idea at that time, that this would set me off on a creative journey.
I work part time as a secondary school teacher and have always made cakes for family and friends in my spare time. My boys always love to push me creatively and design their own show stopping birthday cakes for me to make. This led me to snapping photos and sharing my bakes on social media. After many years I have honed my recipes and mastered the art of decorating.
I always wondered if I could build a success business making cakes so in 2024 I made the decision to give it a go and registered Shadz Cakes as a business.
I have recently started a new venture, combining my love of teaching and baking, delivering cake decorating classes to kids and adults. So if you are after an activity with the girls or if your child loves messy play and likes to get creative book a class and leave all the mess and dishes to me!
I bake from home in my kitchen, and make custom cakes to order. I usually make buttercream cakes and love to work with wafer paper to create unique, one of a kind designs.
I make wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, cakes for all occasions as well as the most incredibly tasty, stuffed cookies. So if you like my designs and love to eat deliciously moist and flavourful cakes and cookies, you have come to the right place.
